managing stress in a fast-paced world

There’s a new Lowe’s open about 1 mile from my new place, I’ve been going there alot, I like how the store is new and they have all kinds of stuff. Anyways, yesterday I went to Home Depot finally, it’s about 1.5 miles from my place, I have to say, Home Depot is alot cheaper than Lowe’s, not only that, but I seem to know where everything is.

last night Leeya said something about getting a pet pig… I was like, “uhh no” when I came home for lunch and to walk Spike, I turned on the TV and the Dog Whisperer was on, the episode that was on was about “A human psychologist calls in the big guns when her pet pug and pet pig get a little rowdy.”

I was sitting at home yesterday and I realized that my Pug Spike basically sleeps all day. He’s also a very light sleeper, you can’t tip-toe around him even when he’s snoring away.

There was so much I wanted to get done this year, I guess you can argue that I have done alot so far, but there was much more that I had in mind. For example I still have not printed any pictures from my vacation 6 months ago…

I feel really bad sometimes, I’m one of those people who are guilty of commiting “out of sight, out of mind”

See, I got engaged 3 weeks ago, I didn’t really feel like telling anyone outside of my immediate family. Anyways, word got around, eventually everyone knew. One good friend of mine seemed a little upset that I didn’t say anything. In my defense, work has been super busy for me, and there is no “light at the end of the tunnel”

So the same friend sent me a card in the mail, it was a “congrats on your engagement” I got it and read it, I thought it was just like her to send a card. I put it up in the house and completely forgot about it… later she asks if I got the card, hehe, I felt pretty bad for not saying anything and she said something like, “all guys are the same”

It’s not that I want to be this way, somehow life has a way of complicating itself. Things are never as simple as you want them to be.

so I’ve decided that with my extra bandwidth, I’m going to setup a captive portal hotspot… it’s funny, just a few months ago I wouldn’t even know where to start at setting up something like this, but now it seems so easy. I am using an old 600Mhz PC I had laying around and it’s working very nicely.

I really like these little projects, eventually it would be nice to implement WDS or something else to increase the range…

so today is 6/6/06.

On another note, I really need to make a point about keeping up with the news and getting out there more to take pictures and stuff.

It’s been too long since my last entry, and too much has happened. April came and went, in May Leeya and I had a housewarming/birthday party at our new place. Later that month Cindy and Paul got married, and towards the end of May Leeya and I got engaged.

Work has been killing me lately, people seem to think I spend 100% of my time working for them. Managing the work alone has been a project by itself.
