MDW recap
Well, the weekend went by quick, too quick. I did get to do alot of things, from a photoshoot, to watching volley ball, to fishing and looking at naked people on the beach, and I even had time to visit the family and fix a broken garage door opener.
Overall it was a nice weekend, I really want to go fishing again, I didn’t get it out of my system yet… I think the last trip just made me want to go more. The only bite I got was so big it spooled all of my line and then broke off. I’m going with heavier tackle this time 50lb leader and 65lb line!
My new camera came on friday, it’s nice, it really is alot of camera, there’s alot of features and functions… it’ll take a while for me to learn what they all do and what my preference is. I do like it alot, and it’s a great camera, I have no doubt I’ll put it to good use.
3 commentsnever enough time
You really do have to carefully pick the things you want to spend your time on. There’s never enough time to do everything in life. I just realized this past weekend was the New Dimensions Charity Show, a few weeks ago I told myself I wanted to go, but this weekend was so busy, I completely forgot about it. On Saturday, I asked Arlene and Katherine if they were going to our 10 year high school reunion. It seems that Katherine has her wedding in Texas planned for the same day, hehe, makes my decision easy. This way I don’t feel guilty for not going to the reunion.
2 commentsmaybe a bit too critical
I’ve been taking alot of pictures over the past month, I think I am a bit too picky about my photos, when working on them I see too many “problems” it’s rare that when there’s a “perfect shot” but most people don’t see the same things I see. Anyways, here’s one good shot that I really liked from this weekend.
learning
I’ve learned a few things by taking more photos…
The D60 is really old
The 20D is so much better than a D60
The 70-200 is awesome
The 24-70 isn’t as good as I thought
Polarizing Filters are cool
Reflectors work really well
It would be nice to have a reflector holder
Last minute plans…
My friend Katherine flew back into town this weekend to visit. Her dad is a photographer and was going to take some photos for her, at the last minute I asked if I could come along. I was tired… it was a long day, before that I went to Kaitlyne’s 1 month old party, and afterwards we went to watch Star Wars. By the end of the night, I couldn’t even keep my eyes open long enough to preview my pictures.
No commentsEpisode III
I watched “The final lucas tragedy” tonight, it was good, I’m going to watch it again on saturday. I just hope the crowd isn’t too bad on opening weekend.
No commentsBay to Breakers
I’ve been spending at least a few hours everyday for the past 5 days in San Francisco. Today was the Bay to Breakers, I wasn’t feeling up to running since I had a really long day yesterday. I decided to take my bike into the city with everyone else from the Fremont BART.

Above is the route I took, 30 miles total. It was a pretty good workout, I climbed 3 pretty tall hills. My only regret was that I didn’t bring a camera with me.
No commentstrying something different
My energy level changes throughout the day, usually it starts low and builds up to around lunchtime, then goes down until I leave work.
I’m going to try something different which is to work on general day-to-day things when I have high energy and the fun stuff when I feel tired and bored.
No commentsBusy May
May is turning out to be a very busy and hectic month!
No commentsmaking sense of it all
I have a pretty busy day today, after work I’m supposed to meetup with some people in the city. Originally I planned to BART into the city, but $2.55 each way is kind of expensive when you can just cross the bridge for $3… or is it more now?
Anyways, I’m planning to go to Palo Alto later tonight after that, and I’d save alot of time by crossing one of the bridges… which is another bridge toll. I thought about which was the best way for me to get around today.
1 - BART to work for $7, then BART to the city for $5, and drive to Palo Alto crossing the Dumbarton for $3 more… plus 60 miles of driving costing me $6 in gas, a total of $21.
2 - Drive to work, then drive to the city over the bridge for $3 and then down to Palo Alto and drive back home. 100 miles of driving should cost me $10 in gas. A total of $13.
It really shouldn’t be that much more expensive to use public transportation should it?
